Gaps in Primary education

29 percent of the children in low income countries does not complete the primary school – typically 1-6th grade.

Fortunately the situation has improved from the situation in 1990, but it is still a lot of children who don’t get basic reading and writing skills.

The problem (and gap) increases when we look at further education.

Only 7 percent of the girls and 13 percent og the boys enrolled in a tertiary education in 2013.

In high income countries the numbers where: Girls 82 percent and boys 66 percent.
